Elementary Soup Feast

Our 1st ever Elementary Soup Feast on 11/14 2010 was a wonderful event! Our students brought TONS of veggies for the soup and prepared them to go into the soup pot during class time. We had a blast peeling, chopping, dicing and dividing the piles of vegetables into 4 big stock pots. The kids also took the lead on decorations for the event with handmade placemats and table decorations. Such a fun way to learn how GREAT it feels to serve others!

In the end, approximately 120 people sat down to a lovely lunch of vegetable soup, dinner rolls and wonderful fellowship together. Even kids (and some grown-ups too!) who don't usually eat their vegetables, enjoyed this soup feast.

We wish you an equally loving and joyful Thanksgiving holiday,

Ingrid & Crysta

Beautiful Day 2010

This past weekend, the youth from our church spread some love to our church neighbors. Called a Beautiful Day, it is where churches reach out to their local communities by serving in a variety of ways. For our Beautiful Day, our youth offered to rake leaves and wash windows. As it turned out, it happened to be a beautiful day, and as we walked around the neighborhood, we were encouraged by appreciative residents, some who didn't even ask for our help. We didn't get many pictures, but you can watch the video for the few pictures we did get. GREAT JOB TOHU-IANS and HOLY BROKEN!!!

October 2010 Golf Tournament

The rain stayed away and the sun shone bright as 33 golfers of all ages and skill levels enjoyed a wonderful day together. It was a very close tournament and the winning team, with a score of 9-under-par, was Rick Iwamoto, Chris Young, Randy Wong, and Wayne Hoyt. We’ll add your names to the “PBCC Tournament Champions Cup”.

The trophy for our “Putting Champion” goes to Marty Brill.

The trophy winner for “Closest to the Hole” was Scott Smithwick.

The winner for “Longest Drive” was Randy Wong.

The Family Low Score goes to the powerful mother-son duo of Donna and Scott Smithwick. Congratulations to all of you!!

Not only did we benefit from a great time together, but the donations for “Birdie” and “Eagle” packages went toward our ongoing support of our Mexicali Orphanage. A very big “Thank You” to all of you who contributed!

Our next tournament will be in May of 2011. I look forward to see you there! (Andy “three-putt” Drake)
